Mangement of Golden Paintbrush: Pollination and Seed Planting

Pollination
A known pollinator is Bombus ssp.
(Kaye 2011)

They seem to need out-breeding
for reliable seeds because the
they have barriers to self-fertilize
(Kaye, Lawrence 2003)

self-incompatibe

  1. So this comment goes for the whole first page...I like the information you have put here, it gives me a good idea of where the plant is, and how to grow it. I think you should explain below each picture you post what it has to do with the Golden Paintbrush. Especially the rainfall and geological pattern pictures. Also, I think an introduction at the very top giving a brief overview of the website (why you made it, what you want to do with it, why you think the species should be delisted or further protected etc.) would be helpful.

  2. Continuing on my comments above...This website seems sparse in terms of synthesis. I think you are on the right track with the first page, but the bullet pointed pages need some work. I'd suggest simply writing a flowing paragraph or two about why each bullet point is significant, and throwing in a figure or picture on each page. Also, your 'self synthesis' part (where you come up with some unique figure) isn't completely obvious to me. Overall this is a good start to a website, but it needs work.

  3. This page is excellent! I like all the maps and figures, very informative. I would like to see more content on the other pages, maybe some figures and pictures as well. I would like like to see more information how what impacts are affecting their habitat and why. Also, maybe a page about what the reader can do will be useful to your blog as well. Overall, great introduction and start!
